What is this healthy banana pudding?
This 3 ingredient banana pudding recipe is a really healthy sweet snack providing high nutritional value, low calorie, low fat, an excellent choice if you’re aiming to lose weight or build muscle! It has healthy fats from the walnuts, protein contained in the Greek Yogurt plus all the nutrients in the banana.
Why You’ll Like It
- Diet Friendly – A great option for Gluten-free, Weight-loss, Low GI, Low Fodmap diets (If you don’t exceed the 3 tbsp Greek Yogurt per serving)
- Energy Booster – I usually love to eat this a couple of hours before going to bed giving me that extra boost needed to do some work, read a book, or even exercise!
Tips
- Ice cream? The recipe is great for freezing and you can also serve it as an “ice-cream”.
- No blender? Crush the walnuts before and store them in an air-tight container as flour. All you’ll need is a fork to crush the banana and mix in the “walnut flour'”
- Gain some time? Serve them in a jug with chunks of banana, halved walnuts, and Greek yogurt. The nice thing about the recipe is that you don’t need to crush anything to taste great and you give yourself the required nutrition during the day.
- Any kids in the family? This is a huge winner with kids who don’t even like some of the ingredients. However, make sure that you have a blender that can smooth all the walnuts 100% before serving to a child. Add some almond milk so that the mixture blends easily.
Variations
- Vegan or Dairy – Swap the Greek Yogurt with another plan-based yogurt ideally high in protein
- Nut-free? Swap for another healthy source of fat like coconut oil or coconut.
- Want the normal pudding layers? Use protein granola and banana slices to layer pudding. Start with the bottom, then add a middle layer of banana slices and granola and then finally top with some of the crumbled walnuts.
- Subs pecans for walnuts.
- Anti-inflammatory – Add some turmeric and cinnamon to enrich the smoothie’s anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric also gives a nice color to the banana pudding.
- Want it chocolatey? Add cocoa powder on top.
Storing the Banana Pudding
- The recipe freezes easily and can be used to serve later as an “ice-cream”. The taste is awesome only with less sugar involved!
- You can also make ahead and refrigerate for a few hours before serving.
How to Serve this Healthy Banana Pudding With Greek Yogurt
- Serve this in a nice ice-cream cup with bananas and walnuts on top! If you wish, you can also decorate with dark chocolate chips.

Description
This is an exquisite guilt-free and healthy banana pudding with yogurt you can eat every day! The walnuts' earthy and tangy taste blended with the ripe banana and Greek yogurt gives it the awesome taste of toffee.
Ingredients
- 1 banana medium
- 50 grams Greek yogurt
- 8 walnuts
Instructions
- Blend the banana and they greek yogurt until they come into a paste.
- Then add the walnuts and continue to blend until it all becomes a smooth mixture.
- You can put the mixture in the freezer if you prefer eating it cold or to preserve it for later.
- Serve with some walnuts, bananas or even cacao powder.
Notes:
- First, blend the banana and the Greek yogurt until they come into a smooth paste. If you prefer you might leave some banana pieces to decorate on top.
- Quarter or blend the walnuts into a smooth paste. Now, it’s simply a matter of taste whether to blend completely the walnuts into a smoothie, leave a couple to put on top, or quarter them without blending them. I like to blend the walnuts well giving the banana yogurt mix a toffee taste like in a banoffee pie.
