We love to eat Jack Daniel’s ribs occasionally for Sunday lunch. I have cooked them for birthdays, easter, father’s day, and also for barbeques. We still reminisce about these memories from time to time. I still remember the day when we ate them for Christmas lunch during a holiday in Miami.
Signature Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce Recipe for Ribs
Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce is one of the richest sauces for ribs you’ll ever taste. This Whiskey-spiked BBQ sauce is traditional of southern cooking and is a winner among guests with its both sweet and smoky taste. The slow-cooked ribs with rubbed in spices in combination with the pineapple juice, teriyaki, and soy sauces, brown sugar, whiskey, and cayenne pepper, make this a unique blend of flavors.
Personally, I also prefer to prepare the teriyaki sauce from scratch instead of using off the shelf ready-made products. As a personal tip, I would not change any spices in this recipe cause it will most likely satisfy every palate.
I use this jack daniels ribs recipe for weekends and festivities as a cheat meal. However, since the ingredients used are totally homemade, it’s tastier and healthier than any other meal you eat in a restaurant.
Jack Daniel’s Ribs in BBQ Sauce – Step by Step
STEP 1 – PREPARE JACK DANIELS RIBS MARINADE
- First, preheat the oven at 140 degrees Celcius (or 284 Fahrenheit).
- Before rubbing the ribs with the dry mixture it is important to remove the membrane skin, otherwise, it might be still chewy when cooked. To remove the membrane, turn the ribs bone side up. Gently slide a knife under the membrane in order to loosen enough skin for you to be able to pull it off. Pull it off gently with your hands and the membrane should come off in one piece.
- After removing the membrane skin, combine all the ingredients for the ribs marinade and rub it on the ribs.
STEP 2 – HOW TO COOK JACK DANIELS RIBS
- Place the ribs in a baking tray and leave it for 180 minutes. Check them from time to time as depending on the cut they might be ready earlier. We want to achieve slow-cooked ribs that are so tender they fall off the bone.
- In a medium pan combine the pineapple juice, teriyaki and soy sauce, crushed garlic, water, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil and then let it simmer for a couple of minutes stirring occasionally.
STEP 3 – JACK DANIEL BBQ SAUCE
- Add the lemon juice, onion, whiskey, crushed pineapple, and cayenne pepper leaving the sauce to simmer for half an hour.
- Grill the ribs for a couple of minutes per side, pour the sauce, and serve.
Sides for TGIs Signature Ribs

When it comes to ribs, it usually means it’s a special meal or we are celebrating something. So, we tend to exaggerate a little with side dishes!
We usually love to eat this recipe with a selection of airfryer roast potatoes, turmeric rice, nando’s portuguese rice, sweet potato fries, onion rings, some grilled green vegetables, coleslaw, and also some pineapple rings on the side! However, this is up to your personal taste and appetite!
