Ingredients
- 450 g pork ground
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Ginger root grated
- 0.5 tsp White pepper
- 1 tbsp Tamari sauce
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
Sauce:
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Green Pepper
- 1 Pineapple can 400ml or ½ Fresh Pineapple
- 1 tbsp Apple Cider
- Vinegar
- 4 Tomatoes medium, quartered
Instructions
- Finely chop the onions, and grate the ginger root.
- In a large bowl, mix the ground pork, egg, bread crumbs, onion.
- Subsequently, add the Tamari sauce, white pepper and ginger root and mix well.
- Shape the mixture into one inch balls.
- Either place the meatballs in a preheated oven to 200 degrees or otherwise use a big pan and fry them in two batches using the olive oil for frying.
- For the sauce, finely chop the carrot and the green pepper.
- In a large pan over medium heat, pour a cup of pineapple juice, soy sauce and vinegar until smooth.
- Add the pineapple chunks, carrot and green pepper into the sauce and leave to simmer. Occasionally stir, and add water if necessary cause the mixture might dry quickly..
- Leave to cook for 15 minutes uncovered. Then add the meatballs and quartered tomatoes for 5 minutes on low heat.
