Ingredients

For the caramel sauce

  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 1/2 cup Half-and-half
  • Pinch Of Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla

For the crust

  • 1/4 cup Egg Whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Pecans, Finely Chopped

For the filling

  • pint (16 fluid ounces / 473 ml) Ice Cream Flavor 1 (e.g. Chocolate)
  • 1 pint (16 fluid ounces / 473 ml) Ice Cream Flavor 2 (e.g. Vanilla)

How to cook a Pioneer Woman ice cream pie?

For the caramel sauce:

  1. Combine the butter, brown sugar, half & half, and salt in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
  2. Cook and whisk gently for 5 to 7 minutes, until the mixture thickens.
  3. Add vanilla and continue cooking for another minute to further thicken the sauce.
  4. Turn off the heat and transfer the caramel sauce into a jar. Refrigerate until cold.

For the crust:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F / 175 C.
  2. Beat the egg whites until frothy.
  3. Add sugar and salt and continue to beat until the egg-white mixture becomes stiff.
  4. Gently fold in the nuts.

  2. Allow it to soften.

  4. Spread the other ice cream over the first flavor.
  5. Cover the pie with foil
  6. Freeze until it becomes very hard.
  7. Prepare the caramel sauce by mixing all the ingredients: butter, brown sugar, half and half, salt, and vanilla.
  8. Get out of the freezer and cut the portions.
