PF Chang’s Crispy Honey Chicken is a crowd-pleaser thanks to its perfect blend of Asian flavors and puffy coating that stays crispy even after smothering in the honey sauce.
The combination of sweet and savory flavors is a favorite appealing to both children and adults, while the crispy texture adds an enjoyable crunch to the dish. There’s no special ingredient or secret in this recipe but here I can guarantee that this honey chicken recipe never fails to impress!
Why you’ll like it
The recipe is a surefire winner that never fails to impress. Why you will like it?
- Versatility – This is a versatile dish enjoyed by people of all ages and that can be served as a main course or as an appetizer, making it a great option for any meal or occasion.
- Budget – On average, a portion of Chang’s Crispy Honey Chicken costs around $16 to $18. However, you can cook this for a family of 6 at the cost of 1.
- Neighbourhood – If you’re lucky to have a nearby PF Chang restaurant then you can get a delivery even as fast as 30 minutes. However, for people who live in Europe, or Australia or just want to enjoy chicken at home, cooking takes only 35 minutes and doesn’t need any special ingredients.
- Homemade honey chicken is always healthier than the one served at the restaurant which without any sides will be around 1000 calories. At home, you can make adjustments according to your dietary needs and use high-quality ingredients. For example, you can use a high-quality oil and drip removing any excessive oil that makes it greasy. I also suggest to try cooking the honey chicken in the oven.

How to serve PF Chang’s honey chicken?
When it comes to this Chinese style honey glazed chicken, I recommend serving it on a bed of fried rice like PF Chang’s chicken fried rice, or another reader’s favorite Nando’s spicy rice. In Australia, Chinese restaurants serve Honey Chicken on a bed of fried vermicelli rice noodles though I’m not exactly a big fan of this!
If you’re visiting a PF Chang’s restaurant then I strongly suggest trying one of the fiery spicy vegetable sides like the chili-garlic green beans, Kung Pao brussels sprouts or the Edamame which comes slightly salted but not spicy.
