What is a Marocchino Coffee
Although the name suggests foreign origins, this drink is absolutely Italian: to be precise, it was born in Piedmont as a variant of the classic Turin bicerin, which is prepared with espresso coffee, hot chocolate and milk cream.
Marocchino Coffee Ingredients
1 espresso coffee
2 tsp cocoa powder
Whole milk (to taste)
Sugar (to taste)
How do you prepare a Marocchino Coffee?
- To obtain Moroccan coffee, it is necessary to start by preparing a good espresso.
- After preparing it (with the coffee machine or with the moka, depending on how you are used to it) pour it into a transparent glass cup.
- At this point, froth the milk well with the steam dispenser present in the coffee machine or an electric milk frother, until you obtain a compact foam.
- Now that all the ingredients are ready, compose the Moroccan coffee: sprinkle the espresso in the cup with a first spoonful of cocoa powder, add the whipped milk cream until the glass is full and sprinkle again with the second spoonful of cocoa powder.
- Sweeten your Moroccan to taste and enjoy it, mixing well the three layers of coffee, milk and cocoa.
