25 Minute Brown Sugar Boba Tiger Milk Tea

Chewy and sweet Brown Sugar Boba calls for a few simple ingredients – TAPIOCA PEARLS, BROWN SUGAR, WATER, MILK, TEABAGS, and ICE. Thanks to the tapioca pearls the recipe becomes fun and easy to make at home and can be whipped up in 25 minutes. I find this drink is the perfect remedy to brighten your day.

What is Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea?

Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea also known as Brown sugar boba, brown sugar bubble tea, or brown sugar milk tea has become an iconic and eye-catching sweet drink with tiger stripe patterns. The drink is super delicious, aesthetically looks very cool, and indulging the caramelized brown sugar adds such a taste to the milk that can sweeten any mood.

Few people know that this drink has been a popular treat with Taiwanese for the past 40 years! Unfortunately, for us who don’t all have boba tea shops around every corner, we need to make these Boba Heavens ourselves. On the plus side, the recipe is really fun and your house will smell of caramelized sugar! A SMALL AMAZING COMPROMISE which I totally endorse!

I love drinking my Brown Sugar Boba with Turkish Black tea. However, BROWN SUGAR MILK BUBBLE TEA can be enjoyed with other teas such as Red Tea and Green Tea. Alternatively, you can enjoy the Brown Sugar Boba using our Boba Milk Shake Recipe or the Cold Brew Ice Coffee.

How to make Brown Sugar Boba at Home

This recipe is easy and takes only 25 minutes to whip out compared to other recipes taking more than an hour if you don’t have Tapioca Pearls handy. I find this quite reasonable to make a nice drink – almost the same time as I take to prepare a Pina Colada or a Mojito. However, if you really want to cut the wait and enjoy your Brown Sugar Boba in 5 minutes then I suggest freezing the bobas.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Tapioca Pearls (boba)
  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar
  • 6 cups of Water
  • ½ cup of Water
  • 2 Black Tea Bags
  • 1/2 cup of Milk
  • Ice for serving

Tiger Milk Tea – Step by Step

STEP 1

In a pot, add 6 cups of water and bring to a boil. Add 1 cup of Boba (Tapioca Pearls) to the boiling water and wait for 2 to 3 minutes until the tapioca pearls float onto the surface.

STEP 2

Transfer the boba to a container adding a spoon of water so they don’t stick together.

STEP 3

Use 4 cups of boiling water and add the tea bags for around 5 minutes.

STEP 4

In a clean saucepan Combine brown sugar and 1/2 cup of water over low heat

STEP 5

Dissolve the brown sugar, mixing for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the boba and mix until it has a thick consistency.

STEP 6

Scoop the boba with a spoon and divide it into 4 glasses and drizzle a spoon of syrup on the top of the boba.

STEP 7

Add the rest of the syrup to the tea and then pour a cup of tea into each glass.

STEP 8

Add ice and milk and enjoy seeing the lovely tiger patterns inside your drink!
