What are the benefits?
- Quick and easy to use
- Healthier roasted potatoes using a lower amount of fats
- Crunchy on the outside and fluffy and soft inside
- No need to boil the potatoes before roasting
- No need to preheat the oven
- Faster cooking times
- Tasty results
Tips
- First of all, I peel the potatoes only if they’re not organic. My trick is to go for potatoes around 5cm and that kind of look the same and to keep them whole. No problem if you have only large potatoes in the pantry – just cut them into equal chunks.
- No preheat is required but if you have time preheating for a couple of minutes will assure that your potatoes be crunchier.
- Soak starch potatoes for 10 minutes and pat dry well before putting them in an air-fryer if you don’t want steamed potatoes.
Variations
- More spicy. Use cayenne pepper.
- More smokey. Use smoked paprika instead of sweet.
- Packed with veggies. Add more vegetables such as carrots and asparagus.
Serving Suggestions
Serve the roast potatoes as a side, with the main dish based on protein.
As a condiment, if you’re not on a weight loss diet I only suggest a drizzle of oil. Any other spice or sauce like ketchup, honey mustard, or mayonnaise will hide the roast rustic taste of the potatoes.
