What is Starbucks Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew?

This coffee is excellent if you love the taste of coffee but feel like a creamier sweeter coffee without the need for the sugar found in other drinks. Unlike other cold brews, this has quite a consistent taste throughout and doesn’t get stronger after you drink all the foam.

Ingredients

Don’t imagine a complex recipe but a few ingredients and lots of options!

  • Cold Brew. The choice of coffee is important for a rich brew without being bitter. In fact, I would suggest using medium to dark roast coffee beans for this recipe. Use a French press and leave it to brew for 12 – 24 hours. I suggest coarser ground coffee so that you filter it out easily.
  • Vanilla Simple Syrup. This syrup takes 1 minute to make – all you need is water, sugar, and vanilla extract! Avoid store-bought syrups as nothing beats homemade.
    Milk. Half’n half milk if you want a standard Starbucks copy. Otherwise, you can choose a heavier whipping cream or any other milk of your choice.
  • Ice. The medium ice cubes you normally find in everyone’s home are great.

How to make Starbucks Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew

STEP 1 – COLD BREW COFFEE DIRECTIONS

  • Use a French press (or an alternative like a Mason jar) to brew coffee
  • Add 2 cups of water.
  • Add 1/2 cup of coarsely ground coffee.
  • Place a lid on the container and refrigerate for at least 12 hours.
  • After 12 hours, if you’re using a French press filter out the ground coffee by pressing down the plunger and pouring off the water. If you’re using the Mason jar, pour the coffee through a coffee filter.
  • Store cold brew coffee in the refrigerator.

STEP 2 – VANILLA SIMPLE SYRUP DIRECTIONS

  • Combine 2 tsp of sugar with 1 cup of water in a small saucepan.
  • Cook just until the sugar dissolves.
  • Remove the saucepan from the burner
  • Add 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • Let the mixture cool to room temperature
  • Store the vanilla simple syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

STEP 3 – VANILLA SWEET CREAM DIRECTIONS

  • Combine the half’n half milk or cream, and 1/2 cup of the prepared vanilla syrup in a small bowl. Stir well.
  • Store it in an airtight container in your refrigerator or use it immediately.

STEP 4 – VANILLA SWEET CREAM COLD BREW DIRECTIONS

  • Fill a tall glass with 1 cup of ice cubes
  • Add 1 cup of cold brew
  • Add 2 tbsp of vanilla simple syrup to the coffee and mix.
  • Pour the sweet cream mixture on top (optional)

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup half'n half milk or whipped cream
  • 1 cup ice cubes
