Ingredients

  • 2 Portuguese-style rolls or ciabatta/baguette
  • 8 tbsp garlic butter mix 1/2 cup softened butter + 4 minced garlic cloves and roast *(check full instructions below)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil extra richness
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 4 tsp dried parsley or 4 tbsp fresh

Instructions

Prepare the Garlic Butter

  • Crush the garlic. Cut off the ends of the garlic heads and crush the raw garlic — or for extra flavour, cook the garlic before crushing. To roast, place the garlic on parchment paper, drizzle with olive oil, and wrap it. Bake in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for 40–50 minutes.
  • Mix the roasted garlic with a fork until it forms a creamy paste and then add the salt.

Assemble the Garlic Bread

  • Add the dried parsley flakes (or chopped fresh parsley) to the garlic cream and stir until well combined.
  • Divide the bread rolls in half lengthwise.
  • Spread the garlic cream generously on the cut sides of the rolls.
  • Drizzle lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with dried parsley flakes.

Bake the Garlic Bread and Serve

  • Bake in the oven at 200°C (390°F) for 8–10 minutes or until crispy and golden.
  • Optionally sprinkle some extra parsley flakes. Slice and serve warm.
