Preheat the oven at 140°C and line a 9 by 12 inch baking tin with parchment paper.
Add the butter and brown sugar in a saucepan and leave it to melt. Optionally you can also choose the microwave to melt the mix.
Once the butter and sugar have melted, add the maple syrup and stir.
Add the oatmeal to the melted ingredients and make sure that the oat flakes are all well coated.
Add the chocolate chips into the batter mixing everything well and making sure that the chips are evenly distributed. Optionally you can also add other ingredients like fruit and nuts.
Pour the mixture into the mold distributing the mixture evenly and level the surface with a spatula.
Then bake at 140°C and cook for about 40 minutes.
Remove the pan from the oven and let the mixture cool
Cut into 16 bars and enjoy these oatmeal bars at breakfast or as a healthy snack.
