1. Armier Bay
At the northeast point in Malta, facing the island of Comino we find Armier Bay lying between other spectacular malta beaches. The turquoise crystal clear sea here is reminiscent of the famous Blue Lagoon in Comino.
Armier Beach, mostly subject to the NW wind (Malta’s prevailing wind), is generally safe for swimming. The area is still very rural and far from any hotels or major tourist establishments. This is one of the few areas which is left pristine and peaceful despite its popularity mostly by locals. Bars and small restaurants conveniently provide food, drinks, and beach facilities such as sunbeds and umbrellas.
2. White Tower Bay (tat-Torri l-Abjad), Limits of Mellieha
White Tower Bay is a large sandy beach located in the north of Malta. Besides having crystal blue water, the beach is conveniently sheltered by most winds. Since the beach is a bit secluded, it is less hectic than the nearby beaches. This makes it the preferred beach of most families with children.
The White Tower Bay is at the right end of the Marfa Ridge, facing Gozo and Comino. The bay has taken its name from a small tower at the edge of the rocks.
3. Little Armier, Limits of Mellieha
Little Armier is a beautiful sandy beach in the turquoise colored water of Armier Bay. It’s located adjacent to the largern beach called Armier.
The sides flanking the sandy part are rocky and the water in this area is exceptionally clear. The road leading to the beach, and the beach backdrop, offer views of traditional agriculture with typical rubble walls and the occasional girna (corbelled hut). The beach is equipped with adequate services for day tourists, including some water sports activities.
4. Tal-Bir Bay, Limits of Mellieha
Tal-Bir Bay also called Ramla tal-Bir and Ramla bay is found in Marfa next to the ferry point between Malta and Comino. LABRANDA Riviera Hotel and Ramla Bay Hotel surround the beach also taking parts of the shore for private use.
Here the beach is quite small and the waters are not that clear as nearby beaches. However, the close proximity to the hotels, restaurants, pools, and other services make it very busy in the summer season.
