In this article, I will provide some basic results using the Nikon D5500 Digital SLR Camera and the Sigma 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM Lens lens. My intent is to help you make an informed decision by checking out the unedited sample photos taken by this gear combination.

Introduction

Let me introduce my venture with photography. I am an amateur photographer who enjoys taking photos to create memorable instances of my family, kids, pets, and nature. For the past 15 years, I have been using digital point and shoot cameras, however, I started to feel I was limited by the quality of such cameras. For this reason, I decided to delve into the world of the digital SLR cameras.

Nikon D5500 SLR with 18-300mm Sigma lens

As a result of a lengthy online search, I opted to buy the Nikon D5500 camera. It is an amazing entry-level camera, offering all the features one needs to learn and play around. This comes with a standard Nikon 18-55mm lens which has less optical zoom capability than man. Hence, I upgraded the lens and bought an 18-300mm Sigma lens.

The lens proves to be a very versatile solution because given the 18-300mm range you won’t need to stay changing lenses between say the standard 18-55mm and some other 55-300mm lenses.
